I'm so sorry to learn of your deep loss of Newton. I hope all of those fond beautiful memories help you in your grief. I often think of what Queen Elizabeth said when she lost Philip: "Grief is the price we pay for love."
My deepest sympathies for your loss of your dear Newton. I have two Havies of my own plus an Honorary Havanese who adopted us at a shelter and my husband and I are foster parents with Havanese Rescue Inc. We we "foster failures" several years ago when we adopted our then-12-year-old foster dog Champ. That darling boy lived until almost 17, and he had the best temperament every day.
I look forward to reading all about Newton in your upcoming book.
Thank you very much for writing. How wonderful you’re fostering, I’m sure you have Champ a wonderful older age… what a lucky dog. and the Havanese are so loving and spirited. Mines been gone 5 days and I’m devastated.
So grateful to have shared meals with Newton, and of course, with his buddy. that special kind of love is such a gift in life. It makes us all feel worthy when it when we are fortunate enough to experience it. Amen to you both.
My continued deepest condolences to you Ethan, both now and in the time ahead. And echoing sentiments already posted below, thank you for sharing Newton and your adventures together with us. Because of your writing, I learned a lot about Havanese I never knew. I'll certainly think of Newton at any mention of the breed from now on too.
Newton lived a life filled with experiences that far surpassed adventures the average American human even dreams of. You gave him that and he gave you unconditional love. I'd say that makes both of you very fortunate which I know makes the loss more difficult.
You have my condolences. You also have my envy. Although I've had great dogs--and still do--only you had Newton.
I have enjoyed reading about Newton and his adventures here. I'm very much looking forward to reading more of his amazing story. Thank you for sharing him with me and the world. Prayers for your comfort sent.
Ethan. Scott told me this week about your loss. Newton has gone over the rainbow bridge to join so many other beautiful dogs. I so understand your loss and my wife Sue and I are thinking of you.
